What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device when you visit. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, which work in much the same way. For simplicity we call all of these "cookies" here. They let a site remember your actions and preferences over time.
How we use them
We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. We rely on them to:
- Keep you securely signed in and protect your session.
- Remember preferences such as your light or dark theme.
- Understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, session security, and load balancing. The Service cannot work without these. | Not required |
| Preferences | Remember choices such as your theme and language. Stored in your browser's local storage. | Not required |
| Analytics | Measure usage in aggregate to improve the Service. De-identified where possible. | Consent-based |
Where a category is consent-based, we set it only after you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.
Third-party cookies
A few trusted providers may set cookies to deliver their part of the Service, for example our payment processor during checkout or our analytics provider. These are governed by the providers' own cookie and privacy policies. We do not allow third-party advertising cookies on Araveil.
Managing cookies
You are in control of cookies:
- Adjust consent-based cookies through the cookie controls in the app, where they are offered.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Your browser's help pages explain how.
- Clear local storage to reset saved preferences such as your theme.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies can stop parts of the Service, such as staying signed in, from working. Preference and analytics cookies can be switched off without breaking anything essential.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service and the technologies we use change. When we make a meaningful change we will update the date above. If you keep using Araveil after an update, that means you accept the revised policy.
